However NEVER use Wikipedia for your research as anyone can alter the information on this site making it a poor source of accurate information. Be sure to list your references at the end of your post include in-text citations where applicable and be sure that both are in APA format.
Biotechnology is hot topic nowadays because of the controversy surrounding a number of applications. Chapter 22 in the textbook (Mader) covered several of these applications however there are others that are significant and controversial and have made the news. These include the use of stem cells tissue engineering genetically modified organisms (GMO) in agriculture or aquaculture in disease diagnoses and treatment (e.g. biologic drugs) You assignment this week is to choose one specific application and report on it providing benefits and risks as well as you own opinion (if you wish) on them. Be sure to state your topic in yourpost’s title so each student only discusses on a particular topic. Please try to choose a topic that hasn’t been previously posted.
