Exploring Psychology Careers

Resources: American Psychological Association and U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics websites

Write a 1,050- to 1,400-word paper that includes the following:

• Describe at least three benefits of majoring in psychology.
• Compare similarities and differences between two areas of specialization in psychology, and provide an example of a career in each specialization. (Example subfields: Clinical, Counseling, Forensic, Developmental, Health, Educational/School, Behavioral Analysis, Industrial/Organizational, etc.)
• Of those two careers, discuss the training required and the average salary. Try the O*Net which gives more details about specific careers/job. Anyone can use it! http://www.onetcenter.org/  Share what you learned about your specific career direction from the O*Net as well.
• At the end of you paper, create a section entitled: “Questions” Please formulate 2 to 3 questions you have about careers in psychology for you instructor to answer.
