Dissemination of evidence-based practice research through nursing

Description

Re: Topic 10 DQ 1

Dissemination of evidence-based practice research through nursing, health conferences and in professional journals is important for ensuring that new and vital health information are shared amongst health professionals for the purpose of improving nursing practice and providing current and informed patient care services. “Researchers have identified publication in academic journals and presentation in conferences as the most common methods for disseminating new knowledge” (Brownson et al. 2018). Dissemination of EBP entails the ability to increase the number of people who access evidence, increases motivation and ability for people to use and apply evidence.

After reviewing my project, the Online Journal of Issues in Nursing (OJIN) would be a good choice for me to present the project. “The OJIN primary goal is to make a difference in the lives of nurses, patients and the profession” (Owens, 2016). OJIN is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal of the American Nurses Association (ANA) that provides evidence-based information for nurses to keep them up to date on best practices, help them promote patient outcomes and enhance their careers. In addition, it shares strategies to improve patient safety and the quality of nursing care through best practices and help nurses influence decision-making in their practice environments and organizations. The journal has the capacity to reach a wider audience in USA and internationally.

The Nursing World Conference (NWC) is a health care conference where I would opt to share my research findings. The NWC will be an online event in Orlando, Florida in 2022. The conference will provide nurses with educational opportunities from a wide range of scientists from diverse backgrounds worldwide. It will promote the exchange of expertise and experience in nursing and healthcare.
