Assignment:

Look up the term emotional intelligence (EI or EQ). There is tons of information on this topic on the web so you should not have any difficulty finding sources. Do not look to your book for this definition please.

Additionally, look up TWO free emotional intelligence assessments or tests. DO NOT PAY FOR ANYTHING, there are multiple versions of online assessments for free. The most you should have to do is provide an email as some only send your results via email. Provide the hyperlink of your assessment.

  • From the readings to-date, to include your online research for the definition, summarize your own understanding of this term “emotional intelligence”. This is to go beyond a simple definition. What does your understanding of the term mean to you and for you?
  • Provide summaries for the results of your EI assessments , or EQ (Emotional Quotient). Do you agree or disagree with either or both results? Did your results surprise you? Support your responses. Do the results relate or correlate for you? Explain your responses.
  • With the above information, you should be able to search your life and provide examples that support or refute your EI results, please do so and do try to provide an example for both. Your example can be personal and/or work place related.
  • Based on your understanding of the term, your assessment results and our course content to-date, can you identify any areas for improvement in terms of your own emotional intelligence? Please list two areas for improvement. How is your current state of emotional intelligence impacting your overall wellness, is it contributing or detracting? Support your response.
  • Based on this exercise, will the concept of emotional intelligence be included in your personal wellness plan? Please explain a bit.
