2.) Explain why relativism and egoism pose a challenge to the possibility of rational discussion in ethics. Using the readings in our text, show how these doctrines might be challenged.

Both Utilitarianism and Kant’s deontological ethics sometime lead to morally horrendous actions, although in different cases.  Kantian ethics is able avoid the utilitarian cases of morally horrendous actions, while Utilitarianism can avoid the morally horrendous actions that accord with Kantian ethics.  Explain.
