For this discussion, you are required to post responses to one of the discussion prompts below. For all posts make sure you use proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, word choice, and sentence construction. Ensure that you proofread before your finalize your posts.  Keep in mind that we do have a spell-check feature in the discussion forum that is enabled and allows students to modify feature to allow for the correction of any mistakes in initial. Be sure to use outside sources and cite the sources properly in APA format.

• Initial Post (40 points)The initial post should respond to one of the discussion prompts below. The response should be at least 300 words. The initial post should:
  • Summarize the discussion topic and cite the concept
  • Synthesize previous course material and/or current lesson resources (readings, Power Points, websites, etc.)

1. How is the idea of total power in the prison setting defective?  What steps can be taken to maximize the power of correctional officers?
2. The reality of an aging inmate population requires correctional officials to alter the physical plant of the prison facilities to accommodate the needs of this population.  How can this be done?
3. If you were a prison warden, what sorts of management problems should you expect to face?  How would you go about solving them?   How can this be done?
4. Under what circumstances should prison official give serious consideration to segregation of HIV-infected inmates?
