How the Dialogue Develops Becky’s Fears
Insecurity and being afraid often happen together. From my perspective, Becky’s fears of
failing are due to insecurity and lack of self-confidence. Anyone with such issues is likely to fall
into depression and uneasiness. Many things could affect her self-esteem and bring her fears, for
instance, problems at home or even peer pressure.
Becky needs to know that sometimes it is okay to fail as long as one learns the mistakes
and finds ways of conquering the fears. She should also learn that if she ever failed, it was because
she was trying to practice something right. Besides, it is upon her not to let her mistakes discourage
her and learn to love herself and accept her shortcomings.
According to (Said & Jamal, 2020), fear often stems from childhood, perfectionism, ego,
and over-personalization. Individuals can choose to see failure as “the end of the world” or proof
of how inadequate we are just like Becky, or people can choose to look at failure as a great learning
