Method of evaluating the effectiveness of a project
The project is about patient falls in a rehab facility. A reduction on the number of patients
falling in a given period will show the effectiveness of the project. One method for evaluating
changes made by the project is the impact assessment. An impact assessment is a systematic
approach for measuring the effectiveness of programs, including determining the significance
and appropriateness of the difference that these programs bring. The impact assessment looks at
the change that a program brings, as well as the degree of outcomes from the changes.
To conduct an impact assessment, it is necessary to come up with short-term and long-
term objectives for the project. Clear objectives are vital because the impact assessment starts
with measuring the associated outcomes before implementing the changes, which act as control
for post-program outcomes (Lee & Kirkpatrick, 2006). The total number of patients falling in the
