Research proposal and annotated bibliography

Your task is to write a 1-page research proposal and a 2-page annotated bibliography in MLA style on a topic of your choice that relates to illustration and the rise of popular culture.

you will be asked to submit a prospective title, a short research proposal (between 300 and 500 words), and an annotated bibliography listing six potential sources (scholarly books and articles for the most part, but websites might be useful). Please briefly describe what each source is about and why it is useful to you as you research your topic.

As you research, please consider the following questions about each source:

• What’s the main argument?
• What aspects of the topic does the author address (or not address)?
• How relevant is the source for readers interested in a particular topic?
• How relevant is the source for your emerging argument?

You will be evaluated on how appropriate each source is to your chosen topic and how thoughtfully you have assembled them; how deeply you seem to understand your topic at the initial stage of researching the essay; how well you understand your sources and are able to assess their usefulness (the summary is especially important here); and on the overall presentation of your assignment (grammar, sentence structure, writing style, and proper bibliographic format are all important
