Product recall

Question 1:
Product recall is a request made by relevant authorities to return certain products that are
unsafe for use by the consumer as they can cause harmful effects leading to losses. USB chargers
are my preferred choice of recalled product in this subject of product recalling. Tectron
International recalled USB chargers because of the many risks attached to their chargers. It was
found out that the chargers could endanger the lives of the users. The brand name of the chargers
was 3-in-1 USB chargers. These chargers were designed for use in charging mobile phones.
There are several types of phones that are compatible with these types of chargers. Some of the
phone models include iPad4, android phones, iPhone5, iPhone4G/3G and iPad mini. The USB
cable is attached to a plug on one end of the 10-foot cord which is white in color. The other three
plugs are not as important as the USB plug and therefore a lot of precaution needs to be taken
when dealing with this type of charger. The recall of the chargers was due to a fire hazard which

charger while in use hence causing fire in the house or at work premises. The hazardous effects
of the charger were evident after two major cases were reported to have occurred but fortunately

The chargers were manufactured in china and imported by Tectron International of
Vernon situated in Calif. Distributors would be used to distribute the chargers to the various
states in the United States of America. The distributors include CPK Inc, Paragon Promotions,
AGI Fundraising, Evergreen Fundraising and the American Opportunities. The recalling was
done on July 2014 for a period of one month to August 2014.This was an immediate action taken
by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission after it was discovered that the
