• Assess your current research skill competencies and knowledge • Assess your use of the support resources in the Library, Research Center, and Writing Center
• Suggest methods for enhancing your strengths and improving your weaknesses in research design Colleague 1 I am excited to begin this course with all of you.
After reading through the discussion rubric for this course there are several areas I need to work on to produce exemplary work in this course. I will need to focus and narrow my research to a defined question that I want to answer. I sometimes struggle to focus my thoughts and begin to stray from the point.
To be successful I will need to focus my thoughts to one topic and problem that I hope to answer. I will also need to attempt to write in a more scholarly and academic manner. I often write as though I am telling a story which is not acceptable for my dissertation. I will need to write in a more scholarly manner to be successful.
In addition to coursework, course reading, and research I will also need experts in the field to share their expertise in certain areas to help me complete my project. I will also rely heavily on my mentors and academic advisors to assist in completing my dissertation. These experts will also assist me greatly in ensuring that my research design is appropriate and implemented correctly to be successful. I look forward to working with all of you throughout this course. After reviewing the discussion rubric, there are several areas I need to work on to meet the requirements for this course.
