Statistical Analysis in Health and Medicine
The main aim of this test was to evaluate how the provision of tailored falls prevention
education did affect engagement in targeted falls prevention behaviors a month after a discharge
happens and also the effect on patients’ awareness on falls and the prevention strategies used
against the falls after the education. The main test used in this study was the pilot randomized
control trial (C, M, & T, 2013). This test involves random allocation of subjects to two groups
where the first group is the experimental group and the second group is the control or
comparison group. The experimental group receives the intervention being tested and the control
group gets the alternative treatment. The two groups are then observed and the difference in the
results are also recorded and used to assess intervention effectiveness.
Other types of tests that can be used in this study include hypothesis tests such as the T-
tests and chi-square test. This T-test also involves two groups which can either be independent or
