PLEASE RESPOND TO CLASSMATE DISCUSSION WHETHER YOU AGREE OR NOT & A DETAILED WHYThe Great Depression was a time where the national income declined from $81 billion in 1929 to $40 billion in 1932. During that time, consumer spending decreased resulting in a reduction of the production of consumer goods, investments, and payroll. Unemployment increased and the successes of farmers, small businessmen, and wage laborers dropped.

To counteract the economic adversities of the Great Depression black women pooled resources by sharing facilities such as bathrooms, hot plates, stoves, and sinks. They also shared garden crops and wash boilers. Because money was low, they bartered and exchanged goods and services. As means for survival, blacks caught and sold fish, vegetables, sewed in exchange for clothing.
