Question Description

The Neuro-Cognitive Lives of Older Adults

Once you have completed the required readings in the Neuro-Cognitive Lives of Older Adults module, you are going to apply what you have learned. First, you will select an older adult program from the attached document.

Next, you will write a report that summarizes and evaluates the program you selected. Make sure to review the Plain English standards and the UHD policy on Academic Honesty before you write your report.

Your typed report should not exceed 2 pages and will include the following information:

PROGRAM NAME

  1. Executive Summary (no more than 100 words that includes key services provided and accomplishments).
  2. Population Served (who is eligible to participate in this program? Are there some older adults who to whom this program is not accessible?)
  3. Program Description (summarize what the program accomplishes and how the program is implemented and by whom).
  4. Theoretical Underpinnings (what research and/or theories are applied to this program). Make sure to cite references.
  5. Analysis of Implementation (based on the information you read in the Neuro-Cognitive Lives of Older Adultsmodule, in what areas is this program addressing the needs of older adults? In what areas is this program failing to address the needs of older adults?) Make sure to cite references.
  6. Future Directions (how could research/theory be used to enhance this program; provide specific examples).

Your report will be evaluated based on your ability to 1) apply research and theories to programs serving older adults, 2) accurately describe the program and the population served, and 3) provide a concise, but accurate program analysis.
