The Role of Women in the US Politics
The American political scene has, for a long time, been male-dominated. However, there
is growing recognition of the untapped capacity and talents of women and women leadership in
politics in recent times. Initially, the role of women in politics was to fight for the recognition of
the rights of women with the likes of Elizabeth Cady Station, Diane Nash, and Condoleezza Rice
fighting for women’s right to vote, securing the right to vote for black Americans and
influencing US diplomacy respectively. The significance and role of women in politics have
dramatically evolved making the participation of women a new phenomenon.

arena. The research shows that women are deeply concerned and committed to establishing
