Description

The objectives of this assignment are:

• To reflect and express more about your intercultural communication habits
• To integrate what you are learning into your personal life

Directions:

You may complete this assignment using Microsoft Word, Power Point, Keynote, Prezi, or other creative program of your choosing. Regardless of what you use to complete the assignment, all requirements should be met (see below). Please be thorough. You cannot demonstrate your understanding of the concepts without thoroughly discussing them. Contact your instructor with any questions. Your submission should be at least 2 pages, double-spaced (12 point font).

This assignment leads to a lot of self-reflection and observations. If you make observations or claims about a particular concept, and that claim did not come from the textbook, you MUST support that claim with a reliable source. For instance, if you say, “women are not as good at math and science as men” you MUST provide reliable proof. Reliable proof means a reliable peer-reviewed source.

What to include:

You should choose at least 3 of these areas below (bullet points) to comment on in your assignment. The purpose of this assignment is for me to learn more about you and your communication habits, as well as for you to understand more about your own communication habits by applying content from the reading to your everyday behavior. I will be looking for specific and personal (yet appropriate) examples to support your ideas. For example, you might comment on your personal, social, or cultural identities and how these relate to intersectionality. What specific examples in your life led you to that conclusion? Or, you might comment on whether you see yourself as culturally competent or not, including specific examples from your communication habits as support. Where can you improve?
