You have applied for your “dream” coaching position. This may be at a K – 12 school, a college or university, or with a professional minor or major league team.

You are invited for an interview with the school principal or district director (or owner of the team). Prior to this interview, however, you have been asked to provide more information about your views related to teaching and learning, and how this applies to coaching and development of your athletes.

Your task for the Module 2 Case is to prepare an essay which includes your responses to the following two questions:

#2: To what extent and in what manner does your teaching style and coaching style reflect two of the following orientations?

Behaviorism
Cognitivism
Humanism
Social/Situational Learning

Describe what you would be doing in the classroom and on the field that reflects your selected orientations.

To receive maximum credit, you must demonstrate understanding of context and purpose of the assignment by bringing all required elements (described above) to the discussion, and meeting additional expectations (described below).

The expected length of your Case Assignment is approximately 2½ – 3 pages.

Include at least three in-text references, preferably including one which is other than those provided in the assigned readings.

As Master’s-level students, it is expected that you develop strong skills for reviewing literature. (Students must conduct additional review of the literature as necessary.)

Your Bibliography and overall paper must be formatted properly in APA format and style.

HINT: To ensure a well-organized paper, begin your discussion with an introduction (including purpose statement), and then list the three or four main ideas that you will address. Be sure to include a section for each main idea, and use appropriate headings for each section. Also, include a conclusion.
