  • Choose two (2) of the following late 20th century African-American artists, and compare and contrast their art: Bearden, Lawrence, Basquiat, or Colescott. Describe specific elements of the works from the chosen artists that represent the multiplicity of the African-American experience. Identify one (1) of these works (or some other by an African American artist) that you would like in your workplace, and explain why.

  • We now have more women in Congress than we have ever had in our history. The MeToo movement has grown in power steadily, especially since the 2016 elections. Yet, women are still paid a fraction of what men are paid for exactly the same job. This is despite Federal laws prohibiting the practice. Using one example from any previous point in our course and one example from Chapters 39 and 40 to draw connections between the two women and their impact on where women’s issues are now.
