Letter to the Future

For this Assignment, you will consider women’s experiences in the global age, addressing the progress made between the first and third waves of feminism. You will write a letter to a person 100 years in the future indicating what still needs to be accomplished, as well as your goals/dreams for the American woman of the future. You will address the three waves of feminism and share your assessment of women’s experiences in a global age in connection to the Unit 9 Reading material. This Assignment provides an opportunity for you to share your thoughts on perspectives of women in the modern era.

Content: In your letter to an individual 100 years in the future, you will want to share your thoughts on women’s accomplishments in the 20th and 21st Centuries.

• Include your assessment of the third wave of feminism. What are the accomplishments of the three waves of feminism? How do the accomplishments of the decades of the 1960s to present differ from those of the early 20th Century?
• Address your thoughts on the accomplishments of women between 1990 and present, and ask your future reader what his or her world is like in terms of women’s experiences. Include what you think may need to be accomplished in the 21st Century. What are your thoughts on the existence of the feminist movement? Ask your future reader questions such as whether or not feminism is significant in the future.
• Describe your goals and dreams for the American woman of the future.
