In Plato’s Republic, Socrates models education on the previous discussion of the divided line. Why does Socrates take the divided line to help us understand how education should take place? In your essay, you will want to both explain and give an argument for the model of education that Socrates presents. You will also need to show how the divided line informs the allegory of the cave.
