Building Materials for Carpets

Building Materials for Carpets
The construction process influences the elements critical in the production of homes,
monuments, and public works. The building materials are an integral grouping of various
constituents that those involved in construction incorporate into their process. Some of the
components occur naturally, while others are products of manufacturing from natural materials.
All the elements involved have specific physical properties that make them appropriate to
incorporate into a systemic design to come up with the end product. The same features are also
looked upon in the determination of the safety, quality, and performance measures of the
component, and the resulting structure (Simmons, 2019). Among the variety of parties and
corporations involved in the building process, there are organizations whose principal purpose is
the assessing the properties of building materials to determine their compliance with the specified
standards for safety, quality and performance. One building material of interest is carpeting; whose
design constitutes an upper layer of the pile which is tied to a backing. The material has
traditionally been made from wool, but cotton and nylon are additional products that could make
the same material.
The main constituent of wool is a textile fiber termed Keratin. There is not much known
about the chemical contents of the product. However, the product can utilize various chemical
compositions according to the treatment subjected to the product. An additional factor if the
position and design for use. The fibers of wool have high resistance to wear and tear, are safe since
they do not harm nature, are soft, and durable (Simmons, 2019). The characteristics that the
product has allows for the building material to portray the same traits such as good insulation
property, good resistance to acids, resilience, and elasticity. Woolen carpets are better than
synthetic fibers in their opaque nature, which allows the product not to show dirt. In essence, the
