For my field trip I actually visited a local church known as High Desert Church off of Hook in Victorville. I went Easter weekend with my family to see what it was about and like. When I arrived at the church service at 9:00am they had a little area off to the right that allowed guests to buy a beverage or coffee along with little snacks to enjoy during or before the service. They had three different areas, the main auditorium, the gym, and an area for the children to go to their own service and enjoy while the parents went to the adult service. They offered cookies, and as you walked in gave you a pamphlet of notes and things that were happening at church such as classes, and other things they offered. Easter weekend happened to be baptism week so it was really enjoyable to watch others get baptized in front of the entire auditorium in front of hundreds of people. There were cameras and they videotaped the service in case anyone would want a copy but also because they offer service to those who are out of town or cant make it they are able to watch it at home. They also record the service for other church locations they have such as phelan, apple valley, and hesperia.
