Pick one of the characters below. Each of these characters lived through the American Revolutionary period from 1763–1783:

  • New Jersey woman (a wife of a merchant and mother of two children)
  • Southern Loyalist
  • Southern plantation owner
  • Southern slave
  • Northern slave
  • Pennsylvania artisan and Deist
  • Iroquois leader
  • Evangelical minister

First, create a brief identity for your character. Create your character based on Chapter 6 from “Give Me Liberty” and, if possible, the primary documents from the textbook.

After creating an identity for your character, answer the following questions in the voice of the character you created:
