Some ethical views say that it always ethically wrong to lie

Description

Your initial response to the discussion question should be 100-300 words.

DQ1

Some ethical views say that it always ethically wrong to lie, whereas a utilitarian view says that lying would be permissible if the lie had an overall benefit for people’s happiness. Is it ever wrong to lie? Why or why not? If you answered yes, under what circumstances would lying be okay? Explain.

DQ2

Many utilitarians believe that not only the happiness of people should be considered when making decisions, but also the happiness of all sentient beings, that is, all creatures with the ability to feel pleasure and pain. This leads these utilitarians to be strong supporters of animal rights. Do agree or disagree with this view? Do you think that the pleasure and pain of (nonhuman) animals is something we should be concerned about in our decision-making? Explain.
