PR Firm to Research: https://www.citizenrelations.com/
Objectives:
Research the public relations profession through PR firms and test your own observations.
Description:
The purpose of this assignment is to research the public relations industry by analyzing a public relations firm or an internal department of an organization that conducts public relations activities. You may choose a firm OR department in any city, anywhere in the world. Provide an overview of either a PR firm or internal department by addressing the following:

PR Firm Overview (1 page)

What does the PR firm do and what types of services are offered?
Examples of clients?
What differentiates this firm from others?
How do they position themselves and make them stand out in a very competitive market?

You may provide whatever information you feel most relevant above and beyond what is listed here. Explore and find as much interesting information as possible while keeping with the page limit.

Tips for my answer: (Im providing point form but write these answers in a professional, high quality manner)
– I prefer to work on a variety of projects and industries rather than one section of the market
-Pr Firms have a larger market to deal with, and they usually have very large national or regional pr campaigns
– Although Pr firms dont always specify exactly what they do, they can cover a variety of Pr areas, such as media relations, advertising, and crisis management
– Pr firms have greater funds and technology to produce superior work

What is your preference? (1 page):

Making reference to what you have read and learned throughout Unit 1 and your exploration of PR firms and internal department, identify which context you think you prefer to work in and why. It doesn’t necessarily need to match your research either. For example, you may have chosen to write about Edelman PR, a very large public relations firm but based on your findings, you feel you would be more suited working for an internal PR department.

Style & Formatting
Your report should be written in a professional format with the use of paragraphs and subheadings to walk your reader through your analysis. Refer to the marking sheet below prior to beginning your report. (The marking sheet is also linked as a Word document below). Doing so is a good way to become familiar with what I’ll be looking for when I evaluate your analysis. You need to demonstrate your research and I expect you will find a lot of material online but please do not copy and paste from websites. Conduct research online by taking your own notes and then summarize your findings so you are not plagiarizing. This is extremely important as you begin the program as plagiarism is not accepted. You may also find it useful to contact PR firms or internal departments via phone/email for additional information.
Your report should be two single spaced pages maximum; one page for your PR firm or internal department and one page for your preference.
