Cost of Health Care Workforce

Cost of Health Care Workforce
Abstract
The health sector in the United States has its share of challenges. The biggest challenge at
this point is concerning the cost of labor in hospitals, which is gradually increasing. The fact that
healthcare is essential and necessary for the citizens means that whatever the cost, the people will
always need it. The increase in hospital costs is due to the rising labor cost. According to the
report by the new American Hospital Association (AHA), American hospitals are dealing with
ongoing workforce shortages, including nurses, pharmacists, medical technicians, as well as
other clinicians. The deficit in the workforce is happening at a time when demand for health care
has risen significantly. It puts more cost pressure on hospitals as they may need to import labor
to meet the rising demand. This paper seeks to discuss the causes of the rise in well-fare need, as
well as the solution to the reducing workforce and high labor demand.
